event at Olive Branch MS. King has never been on a lure coursing field. Sookie has when she was 5 months old. As I had expected King had no interest in chasing the Lure. Sookie on the other-hand was.

All information will be available through The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) under Della's AKC registered name. Della was awarded the last point needed to be recognized as an AKC Champion 12/10/2021. For the remaining two days Della was moved up as a Special (Champion) to compete for Best of Breed. Della went on to earn points towards her Grand Championship Saturday and Sunday

Saturday 12/11/2021 this day Sookie exactly 6 months old entered

the show ring for the first time. Show was offered by the Greater Collin Kennel Club, and held in Dallas TX


So very proud of this half-pint. Sookie was entered Sunday as well. She didn't win any points. That's just fine. Sookie didn't get disqualified or have an accident. Sookie is a winner there.

At 5 months old Sookie is not old enough to show with the big hounds. Sunday 11-21-2021 Sookie got to play show dog with other puppies. Sookie was ready to strut her stuff. So excited instead of trotting

she tried to hop or lope. It was great practice for the real thing.

Both days we were at Chickasha, OK. TSA allowed Sookie to do a Fun Run. Because of her age Sookie is not allowed to run the full course.

We requested a short 25 to 30 yard straight run (NO TURNS). First day was to see if she liked chasing the bags with the noise of the machinery

and if she was confident enough to run out that far from us. This picture is of the second day. She has that stare and is completely focused on the bags!

YES! YES! YES! Now we wait for her to be old

enough and in the meantime get her out to

Lure Coursing events for Fun Runs.

Inaugural Higgins Cup Invitational Hurling Tournament
and Irish Festival

Who let the hounds out?

We (Mt Carmel Irish Wolfhounds) were invited to take part in the Inaugural Higgins Cup and Irish Festival at Burns Park, Arkansas. We were asked to bring a few hounds. Between ourselves and Andermere Irish Wolfhounds we brought EIGHT! We also brought X-pens, Pop-ups and supplies for feeding and water. People young and old were able to enter the x-pen and have a visit with the hounds. Hounds from 4.5 months old to 6.4 years old got to visit with many who had never seen an Irish Wolfhound before. It was such a lovely bright and breezy day everyone was quite comfortable. We hope to be invited again.

Diana loves puppies especially wolfhound

puppies! Currently has wolfhounds from a

couple of our litters in the past. Diana bravely

takes on the challenge of walking 4.5 month

old Sookie. We'll need to work on Sookie's

leash training.

We decided to bring Thor out of retirement. Very pleased that this handsome old guy of 6.4 years was awarded Best of Breed the two days he was entered.

Our beautiful Della! Swift and sure footed there is little effort when asked to move. From our Pi Litter of 2019, Della is black in color with coat on her legs and face going gray. (Much like the points of a Siamese cat). Della was awarded her second Major going Best of Winners Sunday. Thank You Again to Tracey and Scott Mirgon with showing Della for Lisa who was out with an injury Sunday.

Posing with his sire Thor. This youngster now 14 months old was also awarded his second Major on Sunday. King aka (Bainbridge Kingda Ka at Mt Carmel) is a handsome and powerful moving yearling. Good way to end this year of showing. This was Kings last show for 2021. Going to let this yearling rest up for next year's IWCA Nationals in Maryland.

In human terms Thor is Uncle to Della and her brother Austin. Austin aka(Mt Carmel's Austin Healey in the Mud Pi) was not awarded any conformation points either day. However the outcome, Austin can always be found charming and getting lots of attention from the crowds. Also black like his sister Della they grew up with an additional name the "Twins".
