Thank you for your interest in an Irish Wolfhound puppy from Mt Carmel Irish Wolfhounds. By completing and submitting our Questionnaire and Reference form, you'll be added to our waiting list at no cost, and with no obligation to purchase your next puppy from Mt Carmel. While being on our waiting list doesn't guarantee a puppy's availability, we ensure to keep you informed about upcoming litters and relevant updates
Our Planned litters are a careful and deliberate process, initiated only when we have a hound that promises to elevate our breeding program. We typically breed one litter every two to three years, starting our preparations well in advance. Following the Irish Wolfhound Club of America's (IWCA) recommendations, our hounds are subject to Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) comprehensive health screenings from the age of two. This includes evaluations of the Heart, Hips, Elbows, Eyes, and Patellas (Knees), along with genetic testing for Degenerative Myelopathy and Startle Disease. Once these health screenings are complete, we look for a mate that complements our hound's conformation, health, temperament, and personality. All resulting puppies will have Liver Shunt testing done between 9-10 weeks in age.
So there is a lot that happens before puppies are even a twinkle in mom's eyes.
For all our planned litters, we plan to keep one or two puppies as part of our family.
Before completing our application form, please ensure you meet our minimum requirements to be considered.
We are looking for loving homes that provide the following:
A securely fenced yard for the puppy to play and stay safe.
A soft, cozy, and secure sleeping space inside your home.
Adequate time dedicated to nurturing and raising your puppy. Puppies should not be left in a crate for long hours while you're at work.
Joining our waiting list your application will always be treated with the utmost privacy—it will never be shared without your explicit permission.
