September 19-20, 2010
After a long drive from Arkansas to Mason, Ohio. Teresa gets to meet
Nadine and Scott Kerr of Bainbridge Irish Wolfhounds and all their
wolfhounds and 6.5 week old puppies. While visiting Teresa decided
on the male puppy from this litter to come be part of our family.
Beautiful Red Brindle his name will be Franky and he will come to live
with us in October. Picture to the left is of Teresa holding Franky and
getting lots of kisses the morning she had to return to Arkansas.

September 13, 1954 to November 18, 2010
November we lost a friend and mentor. No words can express our deepest sorrow and loss. Especially for the Family and close
friends that gathered to say good bye in those last moments. Our own history with Jonette over the last 7 years is filled with many
Steppin'wolf's Gossamer Wing (Wendy) now 6 months old. Jonette loved life with her hounds, cats and parrots. Countless people
have been touched by her kindness, knowledge, cheer, sympathy, contagious laughter, and love for good food. We will miss Jonette,
especially now that Wendy's show career is underway. Her absents from ring side will be the hardest to deal with. Donna Yeldell
(Jonette's sister and co-breeder) of Steppin'wolf hounds will continue the loving work of their partnership along with the support of
Donna's husband Dearil and family.
The Heavens are filled with Jonette's laughter and all are rejoicing as she is reunited with all her beloved hounds.
Long live the Steppin'wolf legacy and continued success.

12-18-2010. Wendy is doing well as a puppy she
has lots of potential. We are very excited about her.
Franky pictured to the right will be at his very first
show 02-05-2011. Franky has very nice side
movement but still very loose in the rear. Typical of
a male wolfhound of his age. Looking forward to
seeing what the future has in store for him.

Sonoma's Neck Injury (2-9-11)

Monday 2-8-11, Perry called me while I was at the store getting groceries (preparing for the snow storm that was due to hit
Wed.) While giving Sonoma her supplement (a chewable tablet) she fell to the floor but was up and normal. I quickly finished
up with shopping and returned home. Concerned for Sonoma I stayed up with her until 130am. She seemed to be fine the
entire time. About 3 am Tues. she was up and pacing and panting. She was drinking water a lot but not throwing up or
gagging. However she was in a lot of pain. I tried walking her letting her decided where she wanted to go. Seem to start
calming down. So I offered her some ice to help cool her down. I just touched the hair of her chin and she fell. It was like
someone had put a pin to a balloon. Down and disoriented I feared that this was a seizure. I called an after hours
emergency clinic and they recommended waiting on my own vet office to open. It was 530am and they would be closed at
630am at which point I would be asked to go to my vet. If she was having seizures this would not allow enough time for
tests. I got her into my vet a 9am. While describing her symptoms the vet was not convince this was seizures instead a
neck injury. During my vet's exam of Sonoma she turned her neck. That was it! All hell broke loose, Sonoma was in horrible
pain on the floor howling and bleeding from her mouth from biting her tongue. I dove to the floor to try to calm her while
holding back my own need to cry out. My vet said this was no longer an injury she could help with. Sonoma would need to
see a specialist to get the help she needed. We decided to take her to Dr Dew but he was out of town and would not be
back at his office until Wed...(the day our winter storm was due to hit) In the mean time Sonoma was now showing signs of
paralysis in all of her legs. Still crying and wanting to run she didn't understand what was happening. I suggested then that
we need to start her on steroids. My vet called Dr Dew and confirmed with him what dosage and she was given a huge
dose of steroids. Then we loaded Sonoma up in the van where she remained that night. Through the night she started to
regain some use of her legs mostly her left side. She was started on prednision that night Sonoma continued to make slow
progress over the following days. Road conditions made it impossible to get her to Dr Dew until Friday. After talking to Dr
Dew it was suggested to bring her in Monday, since he expected to do surgery and they are closed on weekends that way
he can keep her overnight to monitor her. By the time I had Sonoma to Dr Dew Feb 14th (Valentines Day) Monday morning
she was able to walk with assistance and dragging or walking on the top of her right rear foot. Sonoma had a mylogram and
then surgery to remove a ruptured disc between C6-C7. I brought her home Tuesday the 15th. She was still a little out of
sorts from surgery but glad to be home. Her progress has been phenomenal on her follow up appointment Feb 28th 2 weeks
after surgery Dr Dew is pleased and said to give her another 5 to 6 weeks and she should be able to return to her normal
activities. Sonoma lost roughly 16 pounds before surgery. March 4th, she has gained back 8 pounds. Sonoma continues to
make positive progress. We are so very pleased and love her so much. Sonoma now walks with out any assistance. She
still can not go into a gait (trotte) yet but she is starting to get longer strides in her walk. It won't be long and she'll be back to
running. Will try to post updates on her progress.

St eppin'wolf Irish Wolfhounds. Jonette, who was a truly special person, recently passed
away. All profits from "CONNOR" a Special Limited Edition Print will go to THE IRISH
WOLFHOUND FOUNDATION, a cause that was close to Jonette's heart.

Two more of the Steppin’Wolf Butterflies have emerged from their
cocoons this weekend. Wendy earned her first point Sunday
(Mother’s Day) taking Winner’s Bitch and Best of Opposite. Dever
earned two points over the weekend going Winner’s Dog both Sat
and Sun. Even more exciting was watching Dever take Best Of
Breed over his daddy Brogan. What a wonderful
Mother’s day for Della, Donna and the heavenly spirit of Jonette. I
can hear Jonette laughing as she watched Dever go Breed over his
daddy. Happy delayed Mother’s Day to all.

Monday February 29, 2011 Update On Sonoma Post neck surgery.

Sonoma went to see Dr Dew for follow-up exam. All went well he said she has responded
positively to everything from the start and he could tell she is still a little out of sorts with her rear
"finding her feet" which he said will be back to normal after another 5 - 6 weeks. We can now start
walking her a little further over that period and he said he see's no reason for her not to return to
her normal activity by then. Sonoma was very happy to get home after that long 2 hour drive both
ways. I kept telling her to lay down on the way there. She was nervous and drueling terribly. Just
about half way there I started to sing just the chorse lines You are my sunshine...don't take my
sunshine away and she finally layed down and relaxed. On the way home I had to sing this for
over two hours...funny what works to calm the ugly beast called fear. Anything for my princess.

June 12th 2011 Happy Birthday Sweet Wendy
(Steppin'Wolf's Gossamer Wing)

Wendy celebrates her first birthday with pink frosting, balloons, hats and
plates. Pink not just because Wendy is a female but also in memory of one of
her breeders Jonette Jones. Pink was her favorite color especially pink cake and
frosting. We are so very blessed to have Wendy from Jonette Jones and
Donna Yeldell's Butterfly litter. We couldn't be happier with Wendy she is such a love.
