Irish Wolfhound Club of America (IWCA)
Established October 2, 1926
IWCA By-Laws: "established for the encouragement of the breeding and maintaining a high standard
of Irish Wolfhound. To define precisely, and publish, a description of the true type of the breed, and to
urge the adoption of such type upon Breeders, Judges, and Dog Show Committees, as the only
recognized standard by which Irish Wolfhounds are to be judged."   
We recommend with all inquiries about owning an Irish Wolfhound especially for the first time owner to
use the resources of this site to learn more about health, temperament, history of this wonderful breed.  
American Kennel Club  (AKC)
Mission Statement: The American Kennel Club is dedicated to upholding the integrity of its Registry, promoting
the sport of purebred dogs and breeding for type and function. Founded in 1884, the AKC® and its affiliated
organizations advocate for the purebred dog as a family companion, advance canine health and well-being, work to
protect the rights of all dog owners and promote responsible dog ownership.
AKC’s Objective:  Advance the study, breeding, exhibiting, running and maintenance of purebred dogs.

Most of the Irish Wolfhound items will feature pictures we have collected of
our wolfhounds (Mt Carmel).  Our goal is  to supply a selection of breed
generations.
Irish Wolfhound Foundation  (IWF)
The Foundation's Goals
The purpose of the Foundation is to promote the appreciation, knowledge, and understanding of Irish Wolfhounds
by raising and allocating funds for research, education, and rescue.  
IWF is recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Foundation is able to raise and allocate funds for Irish
Wolfhound health research, education, and rescue, while providing tax advantages to benefactors  The on going
work through volunteers and donations make this foundation indispensable to all Irish Wolfhound owners.

Colleen Ellis of Great Yarmouth a coastal town of Norfolk, England a talented
Artist  with a love for animals and art has combined the two creating
wonderful artwork of wolfhounds.  Colleen donates proceeds from the sales to
European Irish Wolfhound Health Fund and Rescue Trust.  Please visit her site
